The Town of Kildeer The town of Kildeer, located 34.6 miles from Chicago, sits on the southwest corner of Lake County. The residents of Kildeer focus most of their efforts on maintenance of the town’s flora and fauna. Kildeer seeks to serve as a refuge, a center of tranquility, for the residents who participate in the frenzy of activity that prevails in Chicagoland. The Suburb of Lake Villa During the late 1800s many residents of Chicago and the surrounding area referred to Lake Villa as the Lake Geneva of Chicagoland. Chicagoland had then become accepted as the term that best described the entire mass of buildings and people that had arisen from the region around the city of Chicago. Lake Villa got its nickname from the construction along the banks of Lake Micihigan of a number of mansions.
